Groundworker (Topman)

We are currently seeking an experienced Drainage Topman to join our team. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership on site overseeing drainage operations and ensuring work is completed safely efficiently and to a high standard.

• Leading and supervising a team of pipelayers and groundworkers
• Setting out levels line and falls using drawings and laser equipment
• Overseeing the installation of drainage systems (clay plastic and concrete)
• Installing manholes chambers and associated drainage structures
• Ensuring correct alignment gradient and quality of all pipework
• Coordinating with machine operators and site management
• Reading and interpreting drawings and technical specifications
• Monitoring progress and resolving on-site issues
• Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations
• Supporting and mentoring team members on site

• CSCS Skilled Worker Blue Card (essential)
• Confined Spaces Training
• CPCS or NPORS Slinger or Dumper ticket
• Proven experience as a Drainage Topman or Senior Pipelayer
• Strong understanding of drainage systems levels and gradients
• Ability to set out and read technical drawings accurately
• Previous experience supervising small teams
• Good awareness of site health & safety practices
• Reliable punctual and able to lead by example
• Right to work in the UK
