The Opportunity

As the Senior Director of Engineering Agentic you will lead the technical execution of forward-looking platform bets: building the agentic infrastructure and experiences that will define how creativity gets done in the AI era.Youllpartner directly with Product leadership to architect build and ship across two interconnected domains Adobes own first-party agentic experiences and the packaging and distribution of Adobes capabilities across the third-party AI ecosystem.
Youwill lead engineering for Adobes differentiated agentic harness the platform that orchestratesgenerativemodels document intelligence creative workflows and decades ofdifferentiatedAdobe capabilities into intelligent multi-step experiences for creators and enterprise customers. This spans the full agentic stack: in-app AI assistants desktop workflow automation and long-running cloud-based creative production pipelines.Youllwork across a federated set of product engineering teams andbe responsible fordriving coherence quality and velocity on a platform that serves as the runtime layer for all agentic capabilities in Creative Cloud! You will alsolead the engineering responsible for packaging and publishing Adobes capabilities tools skills and MCPs across the rapidly expanding landscape of AI surfaces: AI chat portals desktop and mobile operating systems and vertical applications across industries. This requires deep fluency in emerging agentic standards (MCP plugin architecture skills manifests) and the ability tooperateon a running release train model tied to major partner platform launches.
This is a rare opportunity to build the engineering foundation for Adobes presence in the next generation of creative software. The right person brings experience leading platform and systems engineering at scale a strong point of view on agentic architecture and the ability to move fast in a space where the standards the competition and the opportunity are all evolving in real time!
What youll do
Lead the architecture and development of Adobes agentic harnessfor both our 1stand 3rdparty agentic solutions.Drive coherence across a federated engineering landscape aligning teams buildingmultiplecomponents of the catalog of capabilities.
Grow and lead multiple engineering teams across Adobes agentic platform and packaging functions driving technical strategy team health and execution velocity.
Own the engineering roadmap for packaging and publishing Adobes agentic capabilities (tools skills MCPs) across third-party AI surfaces.
Partner closely with the Agentic Product Management leads for 1P and 3P to define technical scope sequence delivery and translate product strategy into executable engineering plans
Lead the design and delivery of multi-tier agentic experiences spanning in-app AI assistants desktop workflow automation cloud-based orchestration and long-running enterprise pipelines
Ensure Adobes agentic packages meet the technical standards reliability and quality barfor launch on major partner platformsoperatingon a running release train model.
Partner across Adobes engineering security and infrastructure teams to ensure agentic capabilities are built withappropriate guardrails data protection and enterprise-grade reliability
Represent Adobe in technical conversations with LLM partnersandnavigateintegration architecture and co-development decisions
Build andmaintainfluency across the emerging agentic standards ecosystem MCP plugin architecture skills manifests agent harnesses and ensure Adobes engineering practices evolve with the space
What youll need to succeed
A track recordof leading and scaling high-performing engineering organizations to ship complex platform products ideally spanning both first-party product development and third-party ecosystem integrations
Deep experience with AI/ML platform engineering including working knowledge of LLM APIs agent frameworks and the emerging agentic tooling ecosystem (MCP function calling orchestration layers)
Experience building and shipping developer-facing platform capabilities APIs SDKs plugin/connector frameworks at scale
Strong cross-functional leadership instincts with a history of effective partnership with Product Design GTM and external technical partners
Comfortoperatingin fast-moving ambiguous environments where technical standards and competitive dynamics are rapidly evolving
Experience with enterprise-grade reliability security and compliance requirements in the context of AI-powered products
- Experience working with LLM providers or contributing to AI platform strategy is strongly preferred

Expected Pay Range:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $$429350 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge skillsand experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.In California the pay range for this position is $276200 - $429350
At Adobe for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC base commission) and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
