POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Office Coordinator performs secretarial functions for the principal which includes correspondence word processing filing mail processing etc. They answer the telephone and make appointments for the principal. The Office Coordinator arranges for substitutes and other functions related to substitutes. They prepare and maintain payroll. The Office Coordinator maintains both general fund and activity fund records. They are responsible for safekeeping and issuance of all keys. The Office Coordinator coordinates building functions and school facilities requests.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have excellent communication problem solving planning and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with principals teachers supervisors and responsible school and civic officials students and parents.
Must exhibit strong organizational skills and have demonstrated ability to maintain efficient office records including proper filing.
Must have computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office applications & Google.
Must have adequate bookkeeping knowledge and understanding of the business office functions of the district
Applicants may be required to take a qualifying test in typing spelling and word processing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform normal secretarial functions for the principal including correspondence word processing filing mail processing etc.
Answer telephone and make appointments for the principal.
Arrange for substitutes and other functions relating to substitutes.
Prepare and maintain payroll records.
Prepare spreadsheets for extra duty contracts
Prepare purchase orders warehouse orders and distribute supplies.
Maintain both general fund and activity fund records. Perform other functions such as bank deposits petty cash funds etc.
Responsible for safekeeping and issuance of all keys.
Maintain office equipment and make arrangements for repairs.
Coordinate building functions and school facilities requests.
Other duties as assigned by the building principal.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Degree or higher.
LANGUAGE MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS: Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
