About the Role
The Estimator is considered an integral role within the Bay Building Major Loss & Specialty Builds department and will estimate and deliver accurate budgets quotes and cost estimates for large loss insurance claims across both residential and commercial damaged properties.
The Estimator will oversee the of preparing and submitting causation reports quotations budget estimates and building repair scopes while collaborating closely with the Department Manager and the Major Loss & Specialty Builds team including project coordinators and supervisors.
Key activities (include but are not limited to the following):
Compile and deliver detailed scope of works
Compile and deliver accurate budget breakdowns
Planschedule and drive multiple small to medium domestic and commercial construction repairs
Liaise with contractors/suppliers to assist with quote requests and repair methodology
Prepare high level construction schedules for estimator submissions
Have a detailed understanding and experience in the construction process critical inspection points permit requirements and WHS requirements
Key Skills and Qualifications;
Proven skills in construction estimating for building repairs to both domestic and commercial properties
Supervisor License will be highly regarded Medium Rise or Open
Ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously with conflicting priorities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Thorough understanding of the construction process from concept to handover and WHS requirements
Ability to interpret plans and engineers drawings
Understanding of relevant Building codes and Australian standards
