Position: Ship Fitter

Job Location: Port Allen LA
Hutco Branch: Harvey LA
Rate of Pay: $23.00 to $27.00 per hour (based on experience)

Hutco Inc. is seeking first-class ship fitters for shipyards located in Port Allen LA. Looking for first-class ship fitters only with shipyard experience. A test will be conducted on-site to assess your capabilities. It primarily repairs work on barges and boats. NO TWIC card is required.

Description: Lays out and fabricates metal structural parts such as plates bulkheads and frames and braces them in position within the ships hull for welding.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years experience as a 1st class ship fitter
Outfitting experience
Must know Ship terminology
Must lay out and fabricate parts for ships
Must be able to burn wash and bevel with a hand torch
Must pass a drug test and physical
Must be able to work all shifts
