We are looking for a motivated Kitchen Hand who is keen to grow their career as a cook. A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is preferred.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn a strong team player and passionate about developing their skills in a busy kitchen environment. Previous kitchen experience is an advantage.

About the Location

Recently acquired by the Aegis Aged Care Group Aegis St Michaels is located close to North Perths vibrant café and shopping district. It is situated on a quiet suburban street surrounded by heritage residential dwellings.

Aegis St Michaels is a bright and spacious residence with particular attention being given to the shared outdoor and indoor living spaces. It is an open community being made up of a culturally diverse population including many from Italian and Macedonian backgrounds.

As a Kitchen Hand you are a valuable member of the team working under the direction and support of the Cook/ Chef Manager.

A working day will involve:

• Preparing residents meals according to dietary / care plans in accordance with developed menus.
• Maintaining a clean working environment in accordance with infection control guidance.
• Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

• Enjoys working with the elderly.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Is reliable punctual and trustworthy.
• Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
• Has good communication skills and interpersonal skills.

You should possess the following:

• At least 2 years experience in a similar role (preferably in Healthcare Industry).
• Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
• A knowledge of food safety.
• Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
