The Services OM&U Deployment Manager will lead a team of Deployment leaders who lead and support the development and deployment of new technologies and tooling for our global Wind Service OM&U Business. They will also lead Operations Maintenance & Upgrades lean efforts for new and existing processes/capabilities to improve Safety Quality Delivery & Cost.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
As the Services OM&U Deployment Manager you will:
Direct a team of Deployment Leaders who have the following responsibilities & be able to perform these same responsibilities as required:
Be the primary liaison between the Global Wind Services OM&U (Operations Tooling Centers EHS) and Wind Engineering (Systems Engineering ARC Repair & Installation Technology Product Line FPM) in the areas of O&M automation & new technology programs.
Lead Global Validations & Beta Period of tooling/process products by working with Wind Engineering Product Line Regional Execution Teams EHS and etc. to ensure timely and realistic trials; this will include the establishment of validation teams identification of site / location logistics work instructions execution and data collection / report outs
Lead and complete action plan following tool/process validations as well as lead continuous improvements as new feedback is received to meet all CTQs
Establish global training requirements & strategy for new products; this will include building a curriculum creating training levels leading training sessions globally & any additional knowledge transfer of use handling and maintenance of new tool / automation products.
Lead full operational deployment to include cost/benefit alignment procurement planning logistics requirements team requisites maintenance/spare part protocols/execution plans creation/execution of training plans and optimized regional operation strategies for the product/process.
Provide technical direction when required to include off-hour remote and on-site support when technical uncertainties and/or as emergent issues arise to ensure the tasks can be completed safely with quality and within the standards
In addition to managing a team the Services OM&U Deployment Manager will:
Partner with People Leaders across functions (Engineering Product Management Services Execution Operations etc.) to formulate a clear roadmap for operationalization of new technologies & tooling that automates & improves technician safety.
Direct a clear resource flight-board to ensure their teams are prioritizing the most important programs and actions in line with Wind priorities.
Lead continuous improvement/lean efforts for new and existing capabilities to include creation of detailed PSRs leading Kaizens and developing/deploying new standards to improve SQDC
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university or college
Ability and willingness to travel 20-30% of the time which includes international travel and must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies
Management experience of leading a team of Engineers &/or field engineers/technicians
Desired Characteristics
Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited college or university
Wind Service troubleshooting & maintenance hand-on experience
REDP (Renewable Energy Development Program) RELP (Renewable Energy Leadership Program) FEP (Field Engineering Program) graduate (GE Employees only)
Repair or Installation Engineering experience
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Ability to document plan market and execute programs.
Established project management skills.
Proficiency in technical writing and process documentation
Project coordination / Change Management / Influencing / Leadership skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Self-starter and able to work with limited supervision
Safety conscious
Detail orientated
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team
Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent quality certification
