Electrical Project Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of electrical projects across the commercial retail and rail infrastructure sectors. This role is responsible for managing projects from initial planning through to completion ensuring they are delivered safely on time within scope and within budget.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience delivering electrical projects valued up to $10M with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders subcontractors and site teams while maintaining compliance with Australian Standards rail safety requirements and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of electrical projects across commercial retail and rail infrastructure environments.
- Oversee projects with values up to $10M ensuring delivery within scope budget and timeframe.
- Plan schedule and coordinate project activities to meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Prepare and manage project budgets forecasting cost tracking and financial reporting.
- Oversee procurement of materials equipment and subcontractors.
- Ensure all works comply with WHS legislation Australian Standards and rail industry requirements.
- Liaise with clients consultants engineers and internal stakeholders to maintain clear project communication.
- Manage and supervise site supervisors electricians and subcontractor teams.
- Review and interpret electrical drawings specifications and technical documentation.
- Identify and mitigate project risks variations and potential delays.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure high standards of workmanship.
- Ensure accurate project documentation reporting and project handover procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Electrical Trade Qualification with a current A-Grade Electrical Licence (WA) or equivalent.
- Proven experience managing electrical projects up to $10M in value.
- Strong background delivering projects within commercial retail or rail infrastructure sectors.
- Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and relevant Australian Standards.
- Experience coordinating large-scale electrical installations upgrades and infrastructure works.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and project documentation.
- Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Highly Regarded
- Experience working on rail infrastructure projects (e.g. signalling station upgrades maintenance facilities or rail electrification).
- Project Management qualifications such as PMP PRINCE2 or Diploma of Project Management.
- Experience working on government or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of rail safety standards and compliance frameworks.
