Job Description

Under supervision of the Director for Childhood Hunger and in coordination with the Food for Kids SupportManager the Summer Feeding Assistants are responsible for traveling to and conducting monitoring visits at Summer Feeding sites to ensure compliance with federal program requirements and the review and processing of meal services for the Summer Food ServiceProgram(SFSP) including initial review of reports contacting sites for corrections inputting the reports into a database and filing reports as directed.

A Day in the Life

Government-based Programs

Summer Food Service Program (Summer Feeding)

  • Completing federally mandated monitoring and follow up visitsofSFSP sites and compiling reports required by the Oklahoma State Department of Education as directed by the Food for Kids SupportManager.

  • Assistingwith training of SFSP sites and/or delivery of materials

  • Reviewing submission and accuracy of daily meal services from all Summer Feeding sitesutilizingdata software Link2Feed; upkeep of tracking spreadsheet and compilation of meals served by site and in sum for reports and reimbursement

  • Maintaining ongoing communication with sitesregardingany necessary information

  • Providingadditionalassistance to support staff working on the Summer Feeding Program and other projects in the Childhood Hunger Department as needed

Child andAdultCareFoodProgram-After School At-Risk (Kids Cafe)

  • Completing federally mandated monitoring and follow up visitsofCACFPsites and compiling reports required by the Oklahoma State Department of Education as directed by the Food for Kids Support Manager.

  • Assistingwith training ofCACFPsites and/or delivery of materials

  • Reviewing submission and accuracy of daily meal services from allCACFPsitesutilizingdata softwareKidKare; upkeep of tracking spreadsheet and compilation of meals served by site and in sum for reports and reimbursement

  • Maintaining ongoing communication with sitesregardingany necessary information

  • Providingadditionalassistance to support staff working on theCACFPother projects in the Childhood Hunger Department as needed



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Earning ahighschooldiploma or GED.

  • Valid drivers license with a driving record that meets organizational standards.

  • Commitment to advancing the mission of ending hunger.

  • Ability to learn and adapt tonew technologies.

  • Ability to complete a background check motor vehicle record review drugscreeningand physical assessment asrequiredfor the role.

  • Must be able tocomprehendand follow all State Department of Education requirementsregardingthe Summer Food Service Program

  • Must be able to work efficiently in ahigh pressureenvironment.

  • Phone and face to face communication andproblem solvingskills are important to the success of this position

Safety Sensitive Designation

This position is classified as Safety Sensitive under Oklahoma law. Employees in safety sensitive roles perform duties where even a momentary lapse in concentration could result in injury to themselves others or cause environmental harm. The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is notpermittedto hire applicants who hold a medical marijuana card for safety sensitive positions in compliance with state law.

Your Environment

Some exposure to outdoor conditions and extreme temperature changes (summer heat winter cold rain sleet snow).Possible exposureto dust chemicals gases fumes smokenoiseand typically performed in a combination of environments: office field locations and while traveling in a car or fleet require scheduled participation in arotating oncall program and on a limited and infrequent basis response to unscheduled operational role requires extensive travel (75-100%) regionally allowing return home nightly. May involve occasional travel across our service area resulting outside of the employees regular schedule may berequiredat times based on business necessity and must be documentedin accordance withestablished scheduling and timekeeping practices. All hours worked will be recorded and compensated in compliance with applicable federalstateand local wage and hour laws.

Physical Demands

Maintain a stationary position for extended periods while performing work in an office fieldlocationor vehicle setting. Operate vehicles safely bymonitoringsurroundings readingsignageandmaintainingawareness of road movements to manage vehicle controls and respond promptly to changes in traffic or tasks that involve coordination of multiple limbs and fine motor activities such as handlinggraspingandmaintainingsteadiness for moving objects. Move objects weighing up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 poundsfrequently usingappropriate movingtechniques or mechanical aids as needed. Transition between stationary and other positions as needed during the workday. Accessworkareas and vehicles in a manner that aids job tasks which may involve adjusting body position in limited spaces. Respond promptly to environmental cues andmaintainfocus during complex tasks. Auditory attention to recognize signals alarms and spoken instructions that serve as key safety and maintenance indicators. Exchange information clearly in person or via devices in dynamic environments including those with background noise. Maintain concentration and alertness for extended periods to ensure safety and task accuracy. Follow safety protocols including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required by Environmental Health and Safety policies.
