About the company

Remote World is partnering with a health-tech platform connecting NHS patients with private specialists a UK-based employer to hire for this role. Theyve already facilitated over 200000 referrals and are expanding their platform to cover more specialties across the UK.

The role

Youll build and maintain the APIs that power the platforms core booking referral and messaging flows. Youll work in a small backend team owning features from design through to deployment writing tests and participating in code reviews.

What youll do

• Design and build REST API endpoints in Python and FastAPI
• Write efficient SQL queries and manage database migrations
• Implement authentication authorisation and data-privacy controls
• Write tests and participate in code review
• Work with the frontend team to agree on API contracts

What youll need

• Experience building backend applications in Python or
• Comfortable with SQL and relational databases
• Understanding of REST API design principles
• You use version control (Git) confidently
• Good async written communication

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AWS or GCP
• Experience with Redis or message queues
