About the Role
We are seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Teacher to support our classroom of children ages 2½3 years old. This role works closely with the Lead Teacher to create a safe nurturing and engaging learning environment that supports early development and independence.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children is patient and attentive and is passionate about early childhood education and play-based learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson implementation.
- Support children in social emotional cognitive and physical development.
- Help maintain a safe clean and organized classroom environment.
- Supervise children during play learning activities meals and transitions.
- Assist with diapering toileting routines and personal care needs as appropriate.
- Prepare and organize learning materials and classroom activities.
- Observe and support childrens developmental progress and milestones.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure a positive classroom experience.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with toddlers or young children in a childcare setting preferred.
- Understanding of early childhood development and toddler learning needs.
- Strong communication teamwork and organizational skills.
- Patient reliable and supportive when working with children.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a childcare center preschool or early learning environment.
- Knowledge of play-based learning and positive guidance techniques.
- Ability to support structured routines and classroom consistency.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
