As the founding Senior Associate Corporate Development you will be the first dedicated hire in a function that sits at the center of the companys growth strategy. Working directly with the Chief of Staff you will evaluate M&A opportunities manage a growing pipeline of strategic partnerships and produce analysis and recommendations that inform how Hiive expands into new markets products and customer segments. The work spans due diligence competitive research and strategic decision support across a diverse and growing portfolio of active workstreams. This is a high-exposure role with real any given week you might evaluate an acquisition target advance partnership negotiations map a new competitive landscape and draft a recommendation that shapes where the company invests next.

In this role your responsibilities would include:

  • Sourcing and evaluating M&A and partnership opportunities both by screening inbound interest and conducting proactive outbound searches including working with sales & trading to identify strategic leads from commercial activity.

  • Managing the corporate development and partnership pipeline across active workstreams including tracking drafting briefs managing follow-up cadences and building internal alignment across stakeholders required to advance opportunities.

  • Producing strategic research that leadership can act on including market landscape assessments competitive analysis and build-buy-partner recommendations for new business lines.

  • Preparing deal memos for specific M&A and partnership opportunities including preliminary due diligence strategic fit assessment and key risks.

  • Supporting deal execution by coordinating with legal finance and product teams on diligence terms review and integration planning.

  • Building the operating infrastructure of the corporate development function: screening criteria diligence templates memo formats and pipeline reporting.

Required Skills:

  • 3-6 years of experience in investment banking management consulting private equity venture capital startups or corporate development.

  • Structured thinking and clear written communication. You can take a complex ambiguous opportunity and produce a concise memo that a non-specialist can act on.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with minimal oversight balancing thoroughness with speed.

  • Fluency with AI tools for research analysis and document production. The Executive Office is already a strong adopter of AI across these workflows so you will be joining a team that actively invests in these capabilities.

  • Ability to build domain knowledge quickly in a complex regulated financial services environment. You will need to develop an understanding of pre-IPO secondary markets and institutional customer behavior and stay current on competitive and market developments that inform Hiives strategic decisions.

  • Comfort operating close to senior leadership in a fast-moving environment. You will regularly interact with the CEO and executive team and be required to move confidently on emerging opportunities where the full picture is still developing.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience at a top-tier management consulting firm or an elite investment bank.

  • Familiarity with financial services capital markets or fintech business models. Direct experience in private markets venture capital or alternative investments is a strong plus.

  • Experience evaluating M&A targets or conducting due diligence in a corporate development or private equity context.

  • Understanding of how technology products are built and commercialized. You do not need to be technical but you should be able to assess build-vs-buy decisions alongside product and engineering teams.

  • An existing interest in or exposure to the venture capital ecosystem private markets or the broader startup and growth-stage technology landscape.
