The AS9100 Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor is responsible for planning conducting and reporting internal quality audits in accordance with AS9100 Rev D (SAE AS9100D) and related aerospace quality management system (QMS) standards. This role ensures organizational compliance with aerospace customer requirements regulatory obligations and continual improvement objectives. The Lead Auditor also supports surveillance and third-party certification audits and drives corrective action effectiveness across the organization.
- Plan prepare and conduct process-based and compliance audits against AS9100D regulatory requirements.
- Prepare audit checklists work papers and sampling plans aligned with the audit scope and objectives.
- Document audit findings including nonconformities (NCs) observations and opportunities for improvement (OFIs) in formal audit reports.
- Classify findings by severity (Major NC Minor NC Observation) per AS9100D and organizational procedures.
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and preventive actions (CAPAs) within established timelines.
- Maintain and update the audit findings log tracking closure status and trends.
- Assist in preparation for surveillance and recertification
- Audit product safety counterfeit part prevention configuration management and risk management processes as required by AS9100D.
- Ensure compliance with special processes customer flowdown requirements and ITAR/EAR regulations where applicable.
- Monitor and audit key performance indicators (KPIs) including on-time delivery (OTD) first pass yield (FPY) and escape rates.
