PRN Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse Home Medical Equipment
Overview
Seeking a flexible Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide per-diem support in the Taos New Mexico area. This unique opportunity allows you to create your own schedule while supporting critical patient care needs across Taos County.
Work Environment
This per-diem role involves flexible scheduling with 1-3 days per week supporting patient equipment setups PAP maintenance oxygen services and equipment testing. Youll work independently during business hours (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm) with on-call responsibilities for NIV patients.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments
Provide PAP and oxygen equipment setup and maintenance
Perform equipment cleaning and testing
Complete online training
Monitor respiratory equipment function
Communicate patient findings to physicians
Maintain accurate documentation
Support patient compliance and therapy understanding
On-call support for NIV patients
Qualifications
Required:
Active RRT CRT or RN licensure in New Mexico
Valid drivers license with clean driving record
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Strong clinical assessment skills
Excellent communication abilities
Ability to work independently
Preferred:
Completion of accredited respiratory care program
Home respiratory care experience
Degree in respiratory therapy or related science
One year of related work experience
CRT or RT credentials
Physical Demands
Lift and carry office equipment at times
Requires close vision to small print on computer and/or tablet and paperwork
Requires contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens
Requires occasional lifting and transporting of patient equipment
Requires sitting walking standing talking and listening
Required to comply with Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy:
Medical evaluation and fit testing compliance in a timely manner
Annual recertification
Keep face clean-shaven to ensure N95 mask face-seal protection per OSHA guidelines
