Position Summary The University of Southern Indiana seeks applications for a full-time 12-month Assistant Professor of Respiratory Therapy and Director of Clinical Education (DCE). The position is tenure track and will begin May 11 or when filled. |
Duties/Responsibilities Responsibilities include: curriculum/course education development; teaching courses in the entry-level and degree advancement BSRT programs; working with our clinical setting partners; engaging in scholarship activities (e.g. peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations) related to the discipline; engaging in service activities at the university professional and community levels; participation at the national and state level in professional organizations and activities; contribution to community well-being through service related to professional and other expertise; and supporting the mission of the program and Kinney College of Nursing and Health Professions. |
Required Knowledge and Skills To qualify for the Assistant Professor position the candidate must have a Masters Degree. The candidate must: 1. Hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current Indiana state license. 2. Have a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care. 3. Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs. |
Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements Standard work hours are 8-4:30 Monday through Friday. Routine local travel up to a 75-mile radius of the USI campus to visit clinical sites is required. |
