The North Carolina Department of Revenue is seeking a skilled and confident Employee Relations professional to support a workforce of over 1400 employees across the state.

This role is a working supervisor position designed for someone who can navigate complex situations build trust quickly and provide clear thoughtful guidance in moments that matter. Whether youre continuing your growth within state government or bringing experience from another organization this position offers the opportunity to expand your impact and operate at a higher level of influence.

Work Environment & Flexibility
Reports to headquarters located at 501 N. Wilmington St. Raleigh NC 27604
This position requires a minimum of one day of on-site work per week with a flex schedule.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences


Demonstrated ability to lead complex employee relations investigations including handling sensitive matters with confidentiality and sound judgment.
Proven experience advising leaders at all levels on employment policies performance management conflict resolution and organizational culture.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret trends in employee relations data and recommend proactive strategies.
Experience partnering with HR Legal and senior leadership to ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and to support organizational goals.
Three (3) years of directly related experience in the concentration of Employee Relations Equal Employment Opportunity Performance Management or Legal.

Minimum Education and Experience

Some state job postings say you can qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelors degree typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and 4 years of experience required; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 6 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
