We are seeking an experienced SAP Architect / Technology Integrator Expert who combines deep S/4HANA know-how with strong architecture skills and a compliance mindset.

You will act as the technical authority for the local South African SAP S/4HANA solution ensuring a stable standardized and future-proof template within the groups landscape.

Your challenge is to drive end-to-end consistency across modules ensuring all solutions align with global templates while maintaining the highest standards of auditability and operational stability.

• Architecture Authority: Own and evolve the South African SAP S/4HANA solution (application integration data security) while steering decisions on deviations and extensions.
• Integration & Compliance Lead: Define integration patterns (APIs/IDocs/events) and ensure solution compliance regarding data protection authorizations and audit readiness.
• Lifecycle Orchestrator: Oversee the entire lifecycle from fit-to-standard analysis to productive operations including archiving concepts (ILM) and SAP Basis coordination.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Information Technology Business Informatics or comparable qualification.
• Proven experience in S/4HANA template/rollout projects including fit-to-standard workshops and governance.
• Practical experience working in SAP RISE and/or hybrid landscapes.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work independently in complex environments.

Essential Skills & Technologies:

• Expert Knowledge: SAP S/4HANA architecture template approaches and process-to-solution mapping.
• Integration Tech: Deep understanding of IDoc BAPI OData API management and middleware patterns.
• Technical Governance: Landscape design (DEV/Q/PROD) transport governance and SAP Basis fundamentals (monitoring HA/DR security notes).
• Data Management: Expertise in SAP ILM retention rules and legal retrieval requirements.
• Stakeholder Management: Ability to facilitate architecture boards and align decisions across business delivery teams and auditors.

Advantageous Skills:

• Experience with SAP BTP services and clean core extension principles.
• Knowledge of SAP Signavio for process modelling.
• Familiarity with Agile Working Model and DevOps/transport automation in SAP.
• Understanding of automotive processes (manufacturing logistics sales finance).

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and evolve the South African SAP S/4HANA solution (application integration data security) aligned to GROUP standards
• Drive SAP standard and Group Template fit-to-standard/template analysis document gaps and steer decisions on deviations/extensions
• Translate business needs into solution designs (functional technical) incl. integration patterns data flows and non-functional requirements
• Lead process analysis and ensure end-to-end consistency across modules (e.g. FI/CO MM SD PP EWM TM) and external systems
• Define and govern integration architecture (APIs/IDocs/events) monitoring approach and error-handling standards
• Ensure solution compliance: auditability SoD/authorizations data protection retention rules and traceability of changes
• Own documentation governance (architecture diagrams interface specs decision logs operational runbooks) and ensure completeness and quality
• Design and oversee archiving & information lifecycle concepts (ILM) including legal holds retention and retrieval requirements
• Provide architectural guidance for SAP Basis topics: landscapes transports performance patching security notes and operational stability
• Support release cutover go-live and hyper care with architecture sign-offs risk management and root-cause analysis
• Support test automation strategy from an architecture perspective (integration regression performance security) and ensure defect resolution for cross-cutting issues
• Drive continuous improvement (standardization automation cost optimization) and coach teams on SAP best practices and GROUP ways of working
