Your Role in Supporting Our Members:â

AsaâData Engineering Team Lead you will provide technical leadership and direction for the organizations data engineering capabilities. The role sets engineering standards designs scalable and secure data architectures and leads to complex cross-team data initiatives. While remaining hands-on you will influence platform strategy mentor engineers and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture governance and business priorities.

This is aâFull-time Permanent role based at our Head Officein Vancouver British Columbiaâand will report directly to theDirector Data Platforms.Our head office is based in Vancouver but we are open to candidates in BC and this position is for an existing vacancy and provides a hybrid work arrangement you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands when needed.

  • Makingkey technical decisions that influence platform scalability reliability and future direction
  • Evaluatingandselectingtools frameworks and patterns with long-term impact in mind
  • Balancingtechnical excellence with delivery timelines and business priorities
  • Communicatingarchitectural designs trade-offs and recommendations to senior technical and business stakeholders
  • Actingas a trusted technical advisor to product analytics and platform leadership
  • Influencingengineering practices and standards across multiple teams
  • Facilitating alignment between business needs and technical solutions
  • Operating as a senior individual contributor with no formal people management responsibilities
  • Providing mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers
  • Leadingby example in code quality operational excellence and engineering discipline


WhatâYoullâBring toâthe Team:â

  • Bachelors degree in computer scienceor related technical discipline
  • 6-8years of industry experience in Data Engineering or relatedfieldhandling data processing and transformation of disparate datasets
  • Experience with big data and analytics programming languages such as Python R Spark in Databricks
  • Experience with batch and real-time processing frameworks (EventHub Apache Spark Apache Kafka etc.)
  • Strong ability to innovate and adapt to emerging technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience with Azure Data Lake Azure Data Factory Azure DatabricksSemarchyand EventHub
  • Exposure toDevSecOpspractices and security-first principles
  • Understanding of data storage mapping modeling and real-time data handlingâ
