Job Summary
Intro/Program Description: Goddard Riverside is working in collaboration with the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development to alleviate the effects of poverty and provide opportunities by operating a Beacon Community Center on the Upper Westside. Beacon Community Centers are in public schools throughout New York City and serve youth from kindergarten through age 21 and adults ages 22 and older including Older Adults. Beacons operate year-round on non-school hours weekdays evenings weekends and in the summer as a resource to the entire community by offering integrated programming tailored to local needs. During the summer Beacons collaborate with the New York City Public Schools for the Summer Rising initiative.

Purpose of Position: Program Aides work with Office Manager Coordinators and Director to ensure the office is managed smoothly. Includes record-keeping correspondence monitoring and supporting Youth Groups.
Schedule:Monday to Friday June 22 2026 through Augustam-5pm (up to 35 hours a week)
Hourly Rate: $19/hr
Qualifications
Role Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Office Tasks (Manage attendance records Data Entry Typing Copying Manage Program/Office Supplies)
- Maintenance Tasks (Light Sweeping mopping dusting general cleaning)
- Support all areas of Summer Camp Program
- Enforce program rules
- Know and enforce ALL emergency procedures and follow all safety guidelines associated with all program areas
- Foster a learning environment that stimulates childrens creative growth and development
- Attend staff training weekly meetings and supervision meetings
- Other duties as required and assigned by Program Director ADED and/or DED
- Demonstrate professionalism & leadership
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must be able to work between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday-Friday for training sessions
- Must have ability to work collaboratively
- Must have a sense of humor and a passion for youth development
- Have energy motivation and skills needed to work independently
- Comfortably engaging youth
- Experience or interest in Education/Social Work a plus
- Must be able to pass background check including Fingerprint Screening.
- CPR/First Aid Certification a plus
Skills Knowledge and Abilities
- Familiarity with Social Services setting
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work as a team member
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus
Physical Requirements
- Frequent bending kneeling
- Computer use
