The Loyalist Inn is an oceanside hotel inSummerside PE consisting of 82 rooms 4000 square feet of conference spacea restaurant and indoor swimming pool. The Loyalist is located on the water bringing touristsfrom around the world during summer season and business and sports teamsduring the winter months.
Maintenance Manager
The Maintenance Manager is responsiblefor the evaluation planning organization and execution of The LoyalistCountry Inn Maintenance Program. Reporting to the General Manager this roleleads the maintenance team and works with local contractors to ensurefacilities are safe compliant well-maintained and operating at peakefficiency.
As a key operational leader and memberof the hotel leadership team the Maintenance Manager plays a critical role insupporting the Loyalist Country Inns operations to assist in enhancing theguest experience. This is a dynamic hands-on leadership role where no two daysare the same offering the opportunity to solve complex problems drivecontinuous improvement and collaborate across diverse teams.
As the Maintenance Manager You Will:
Maintenance Execution
- Perform routine maintenance tasks at thehotel (e.g. drywall repair painting carpet/floor cleaning plumbingventilation cooling heating caulking snow removal/salting landscapingetc.)
- Assist with adjustments to operationaland design elements in the locations (e.g. move furniture fixtures equipmentetc.) and other areas as required (e.g. waste removal cleaning interior wallsand ceilings etc.)
- Develop and oversee preventivemaintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life
- Plan and prioritize correctivemaintenance and emergency repairs across the property
- Ensure timely response to maintenanceissues impacting operations and guest experience
- Standardize maintenance processesdocumentation and best practices
Facilities Safety & Compliance
- Ensure the property meet health safetyand regulatory requirements
- Conduct daily site inspections andaudits to identify risks and improvement opportunities
- Oversee safety programs equipmentmaintenance and contractor compliance
- Partner with leadership to proactivelyaddress infrastructure and lifecycle needs
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead coach and develop other maintenanceprofessional(s)
- Set clear expectations schedule andperformance standards for the maintenance function
- Assist with recruitment onboardingtraining and performance management of staff
- Work with other Management team members toachieve operational goals and KPIs
- Complete reporting for management indicatingtasks completed progress on ongoing projects potential issues and goals& objectives for the next period
Budgeting & Vendor Management
- Manage the maintenance operating budgettracking costs each month
- Control costs while maintaining qualityand service standards
- Source negotiate and managerelationships with vendors contractors and service agreements
- Communicate clearly and regularly withstakeholders on priorities timelines and risks

What You Bring
- Valid Drivers License
- 3 years of progressive maintenanceleadership experience preferably in hospitality hotels restaurants ormulti-site operations
- Post-secondary diploma/degree inConstruction/Maintenance related area an asset
- Trade certification(s) considered anasset (e.g. Plumbing Electrical HVAC Carpentry etc.)
- Working experience with a variety ofhand tools power tools and equipment
- Certified Pool Operator Certificationconsidered an asset
- Strong technical knowledge of buildingsystems (HVAC electrical plumbing mechanical)
- Solid understanding of health safetyand regulatory requirements
- Experience managing budgets vendorsand service contracts
