Therapeutic Recreational Specialist Full Time

Join Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Full-Time Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in Provo Utah and help clients of all ages build confidence and improve well-being through engaging evidence-based recreational therapy. This position offers a competitive wage of $22.22$28.14/hour and is ideal for someone who enjoys using play movement and meaningful activities as tools for healing while working out of our Parkview location and collaborating with multiple programs across the clinic to create a dynamic environment with opportunities to make a meaningful impact.

You must have a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) License active in Utah.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM5:00 PM
Compensation: $22.22$28.14 DOE

What Youll Do as a Therapeutic Recreational Specialist

• Develop and implement individualized evidence-based recreation therapy plans
• Facilitate engaging group and individual activities in both indoor and outdoor settings
• Conduct assessments and monitor client progress toward treatment goals
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated effective care
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in the EHR
• Contribute to program development while maintaining a safe supportive environment
• Provide services across multiple programs and locations within the agency
• May supervise TRT Technicians interns or other TRT Specialists

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation/Recreation Therapy (or another bachelors with an approved TR emphasis; graduate degrees accepted)
  AND
• Completed therapeutic recreation practicum
  AND
• Licensed Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) in Utah
  
  
• Knowledge of recreation therapy principles including the APIED process
• Ability to lead therapeutic groups/activities for diverse client needs
• Experience in behavioral health settings (outpatient crisis or residential) preferred
• Strong communication teamwork organization and documentation skills
• Understanding of behavioral health conditions interventions and safety practices
• Valid drivers license and ability to work in active indoor/outdoor settings
• Bilingual (Spanish) candidates may be eligible for a wage differential
