Job Summary
POSITION PURPOSE:
Service membership as well as dependents of the New York City District Council of Carpenters Welfare Fund with mental health issues including but not limited to: referrals for inpatient rehabilitation intensive outpatient outpatient treatment and case management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide Referrals
- Provider referrals to members and/or dependents consistent with treatment needs coverage and location.
- Conduct thorough assessments for appropriate level of treatment and length of stay.
- Conduct psychosocials when applicable.
- Verify eligibility for coverage and complete Utilization Review form.
- Act as a liaison with insurance company and treatment facilities.
Program and Case Management
- Maintain confidential written and electronic records.
- Ensure legislation standards and guidelines are being followed.
- Collaborate with facilities on progress and effectiveness of treatment.
- Maintain statistics for the program and identify trends.
TRAININGS/GROUPS
Facilitate weekly psychoeducation groups.
Provide educational/informational sessions to members employers and staff.
Opportunity to hold therapeutic workshops for employees.
REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) or equivalent certification/licensure.
Minimum of three (3) years experience in the field of substance abuse.
Qualified Health Professional with a CASAC preferred.
Experience in the Mental Health field a plus.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Experience working with individuals in need of substance use preferred.
Strong assessment and active listening skills interpersonal skills critical thinking and effective communication.
High level of organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical skills.
Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary Range: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates relevant skills education and experience. The NYCDCC Benefit Funds offer a generous and competitive benefit package.
