SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS

Reportsto: Golfand Facilities Supervisor

BASIC FUNCTION

The Golf Instructoris responsible forlesson and camp development and implementationforpark district golf programs. Including youth golf camps ages 8-13 at the Golf Center as well as youth and adult beginner lessons at Lake Park Golf Course for ages 5 and and adult lessons as well as youth summer camps scheduleisbased off the program guide provided by the Golf and Facilities Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Attend all preseason training sessions and staff meetings.

  2. Adhere to Des Plaines Park District policiesproceduresand safety standards.

  3. Responsible forsafety andeducationduringprogramming for the participants.

  4. Organize and lead youth golf camp instruction and beginner golf lesson instruction for ages 5 and up.

  5. Work with the Golf and Facilities Supervisor to create and implement lesson plans.

  6. Understandinggolf techniques and terminology.

  7. Teach proper golf etiquette the rules of golf cover the basics of grip putting and full swing.

  8. Ability to cover all club types including putters wedges irons andwoods.

  9. Set up and take down lesson equipment keeping inventory clean and organized.

  10. Communicate with the Golf and Facilities Supervisor regarding lesson plan changes due to inclement weather.

  11. Work cooperatively as a team member with all other staff members.

  12. Submit routine paperwork such asAccident/Incident Reports Time-Off Request Forms.

  13. Report any issuesproblemsor concerns to supervisor/management.

  14. Provide golf instruction through driving range short game practice green and on-course lessons.

  15. Available for weekday and weekend instruction during spring summer and fall seasons.

  16. Additionaldutiesas assigned.

OTHER DUTIES

  1. Administer First Aid whenrequired

  2. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and Crisis Manual.

  3. Direct participantsin the event ofan emergency such asfire andsevere weather.

  4. Communicate withGolf & FacilitiesSupervisorregardingany equipmentneedingrepair or replacement.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: HighSchool Diploma

Experience: 2 years of golf teaching experiencerequired

PGA Professional Certification preferred but notrequired

Certifications: CPR/First Aid Certificationrequired
