Job Summary:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Infusion therapy to provide high-quality care in an ambulatory setting. This role will involve administering various infusions working with oncology and outpatient patients and using your nursing expertise to deliver exceptional patient care. Ideal candidates will have strong clinical experience infusion therapy expertise and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer a wide range of infusion therapies including chemotherapy and biologics to patients
Monitor patient reactions to infusions and manage any adverse effects
Perform patient assessments including physical and emotional evaluations
Document patient care and infusion details in the EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Educate patients and families on treatment plans possible side effects and self-care post-treatment
Maintain a safe clean and organized environment for infusion procedures
Provide excellent patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care for all patients
Perform nursing assessments and adjust care as needed to ensure patient comfort and safety
Required Skills & Experience:
Current New York State RN License required
Certified in BLS and able to be recertified
Minimum 1.5 years of recent experience in an acute care facility or hospital setting preferably of similar size or trauma level
Infusion experience is required
Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Must not have had professional license or certification suspended or investigated
Must not have been named as a defendant in a professional liability claim
Preferred Experience:
Recent experience in outpatient and oncology settings
Experience with chemotherapy infusion and managing related side effects
