Scrum Master

Scrum Master 1- Year Contract Remote $85/hour

Our client Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support multiple software development teams in an Agile environment. This role partners closely with Product Owners engineers and stakeholders to help teams deliver meaningful high-quality solutions.

• Dates: 1-year contract June 1 2026 through May 31 2027

• Employment Type: W-2 only. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. No C2C or third-party arrangements.

• Location: Remote

• Hours: Full-time Monday through Friday

• Background Check: Clear criminal background check required

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups sprint planning backlog refinement demos and retrospectives

• Coach teams and stakeholders on Scrum principles and Agile best practices

• Support Product Owners with backlog management prioritization and stakeholder requests

• Help teams improve delivery predictability velocity and overall Scrum maturity

• Remove impediments resolve conflicts and reduce blockers impacting team progress

• Build and maintain reports related to velocity burndown capacity and planning using Jira

• Support story point estimation roadmap adjustments quarterly planning and cross-team collaboration

• Foster a culture of accountability transparency and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering Computer Science or a related field

• Scrum Master certification

• 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner in a software development environment

• Strong experience with Jira

• Experience coaching teams new to Agile and Scrum

• Excellent communication facilitation and servant leadership skills

• Highly organized adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced technical environment
