Our consumer product client is seeking a Cost Accountant to assist with the daily and monthly cost accounting operations. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Oversee the daily and monthly cost accounting operations and to ensure GAAP compliance and cost accounting procedures
Manage all aspects of inventory including gross margin and product line analysis and related reserves; inventory reconciliation reserves and variance & COGS analysis
Ensure standard costs and overhead/labor rates utilized are accurate
Participate in the month-end close duties including journal entries inventory reserve & reconciliation variance analysis
Assist with special ad-hoc projects as needed
The qualified Cost Accountant will possess:
A Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
At least 3 years of experience in G/L accounting with solid exposure to cost accounting and/or inventory
Solid Excel skills such as pivot tables and V-lookups
Prior experience with Oracle is preferred but no required
Excellent communication (both verbal and written) organizational problem-solving and decision-making skills
