Position Summary:

The Sr. Clinical Nutrition Specialist will serve as a clinical and scientific expert in medical nutrition therapy supporting clinical development clinical operations and medical affairs teams. This role will ensure that nutrition-related products therapies and educational materials are evidence-based compliant and aligned with current clinical guidelines. The Sr. Clinical Nutrition Specialist will act as a liaison between healthcare professionals internal stakeholders and external partners to provide diet monitoring training and oversight in clinical studies.

Responsibilities:

• Provides evidence-based nutrition expertise for clinical and scientific support of investigational products particularly those related to metabolic disorders or medical nutrition therapy.

• Contributes to the development of clinical study protocols and study manuals such as site dietitian manual.

• Trains site dietitians on diet data entry and diet monitoring using specialized study tools and provides oversight of diet monitoring at clinical sites.

• Reviews and interprets complex clinical data related to diet management for reconciliation with clinical practice and to ensure scientific accuracy for publications.

• Develops and maintains tools and educational materials for healthcare providers study participants and internal teams and ensures all educational content aligns with current nutrition guidelines and regulatory standards.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in nutrition Dietetics or related field required Masters degree preferred. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN LDN) credentials preferred.

• Experience in metabolic disorders required.

• 3 years of direct clinical experience required with some direct work experience with dietary management of inborn errors of metabolism (IEM) disorders required.

• Experience in clinical research pharmaceutical industry or medical nutrition therapy preferred.

• Ability to travel 10 % domestic and internationally.

• All positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face to face work with colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego. No role is expected to be 100% remote.
