Support Worker (Wangaratta North) Hume Southern Riverina

Across Australia Just Better Care provides in-home aged care and disability support services supporting people to live independently. For over 15 years we have been supporting older people and people living with disability to live independently in their own homes and stay connected to their local community.

Our friendly compassionate and experienced team makes this possible.

We are currently looking for dedicated Support Worker to join a team within the Wangaratta area to work with a customer that requires full time care.

The roster for this team is broken up into 3 time slots

• Morning - 8am to 3pm (2 people)
• Afternoon - 3pm to 8pm/10pm (2 people)
• Active Overnight - 8pm to 8am (1 person)

Pay rates range from

• Week days - $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
• Active overnights - $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
• Weekend and Public holiday rates - $45.00 per hour

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Personal care: showering dressing grooming and medication assistance
• Social support/transportation for social activities shopping travelling to medical appointments
• Domestic assistance: light household cleaning meal preparation
• Supporting the customer in the use of aids and personal equipment
• Supporting the customer with complex and/or challenging needs
• Monitoring the well-being of the customer and reporting on their progress
• Provide updates on the customers progress following each service

About you:

• Experience in the field is an advantage
• Caring compassionate & friendly
• Good interpersonal skills & written/verbal communication skills
• Reliable & dependable
• Ability to build rapport & good working relationships
• Comfortable using technology (i.e. mobile app) for accessing rosters & recording customer notes/feedback

What you will need:

• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance / Criminal Record Check
• Proof of Vaccination(where relevant) i.e. COVID-19 vaccination certificate
• Current First Aid certificate/CPR
• Current Australian Drivers License
• Reliable registered and insured vehicle
• Smart phone with internet access

• Certificate III or IV in Aged Care Home & Community Care Individual Support or Disability Services

• Manual Handling Certificate
• Medication Administration certificate is an advantage
