Zendesk is seeking an experienced US International Tax professional to support the companys growing global tax footprint. As a US-headquartered SaaS company with expanding international operations Zendesks cross-border transactions require careful evaluation not only from a local country perspective but also through a US tax lens.
While primarily focused on international tax this role will also leverage broad US tax knowledge to support the quarterly and annual tax provision process and assist with various domestic tax matters as they arise. This role will support the execution of key international tax initiatives including entity restructurings cash repatriation IP and transfer pricing alignment and M&A integration with a focus on delivering well-documented technically sound outcomes that are aligned across global teams. The position will partner closely with Tax leadership Accounting Treasury and external advisors to ensure complex transactions are analyzed modeled and implemented efficiently and defensibly.
This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Tax Director offering significant exposure to high-impact international tax matters while helping scale the tax function in support of Zendesks continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Support the US tax analysis of cross-border transactions including restructurings dividends intercompany funding IP arrangements and acquisitions
Assist with modeling and planning related to GILTI foreign tax credits E&P Subpart F and related cash tax and effective tax rate considerations
Collaborate with the tax team on the quarterly and annual income tax provision (ASC 740) process ensuring accurate reporting of international tax impacts and assisting with general US tax accounting matters
Support cash repatriation and liquidity planning including dividend analysis and execution
Contribute to the design documentation and defense of IP and transfer pricing structures from a US tax perspective in coordination with local teams and advisors
Partner with Accounting and other stakeholders to ensure tax implications of complex transactions are identified early and reflected appropriately
Support M&A activity including tax diligence and post-acquisition integration
Assist with international tax compliance and planning including coordination with external advisors and review of key deliverables
Help improve internal processes documentation and scalability to support a growing global tax function and future capital markets readiness
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA JD or MST preferred
8 years of relevant US international tax experience gained in Big 4 public accounting and/or a large multinational corporate tax environment
Strong technical knowledge of US international tax concepts including GILTI FTCs E&P and cross-border structuring
Solid understanding of general US federal income tax principles and experience with US GAAP tax accounting (ASC 740)
Experience supporting transfer pricing and IP-related tax matters from a US perspective
Exposure to M&A transactions including tax diligence and integration support
Ability to work effectively across functions and geographies in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to identify issues early propose thoughtful alternatives and execute with attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience supporting documentation for complex tax positions
Experience with tax provision/compliance software and a strong interest in leveraging technology for process automation (e.g. Alteryx Gemini Chat GPT or Claude) is highly desirable.

The US annualized base salary range for this position is $181000.00-$271000.00. This position may also be eligible for bonus benefits or related incentives. While this range reflects the minimum and maximum value for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations the offer for the successful candidate for this position will be based on job related capabilities applicable experience and other factors such as work location.
