Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams. The BSA will play a key role in analyzing business needs defining system requirements and supporting delivery of high-quality technology solutions across Life Insurance Wealth and Group Benefits platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong insurance or financial services domain knowledge excellent analytical skills and experience working in Agile and/or hybrid delivery models.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Requirements Analysis:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Product Operations Underwriting Claims Finance and Compliance
  • Elicit analyze and document business functional non-functional and system requirements
  • Translate business needs into user stories use cases process flows and data models
  • Ensure requirements align with regulatory compliance and security standards in Canada

Technology & Solution Support:

  • Act as liaison between business users architects developers QA and vendors
  • Participate in solution design discussions to ensure alignment with business needs
  • Support system integrations across policy admin billing claims CRM and data platforms
  • Perform impact analysis for system changes and enhancements

Agile Delivery Lifecycle Support:

  • Support Product Owners and Scrum teams in backlog grooming sprint planning and refinement
  • Support UAT planning and execution including test scenarios and defect triage
  • Validate delivered solutions against business requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimization

Documentation & Communication:

  • Produce and maintain BRDs FRDs user stories and interface specifications
  • Facilitate workshops walkthroughs and requirement review sessions
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Information Systems Computer Science or related field
  • 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Business Analyst in large-scale environments
  • Strong experience in Insurance or Financial Services (Life Insurance preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum and SDLC methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of policy administration claims underwriting billing and customer servicing
  • Data analysis and reporting experience
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with insurance platforms (Guidewire Ingenium Life400 or similar)
  • Knowledge of Canadian regulatory standards (OSFI privacy compliance risk)
  • Experience with APIs system integrations and data mapping
  • Certifications: CBAP CCBA PMI-PBA
  • Experience in large enterprise or multi-vendor environments
