Business Systems Analyst (BSA) SAS to Python Migration
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to lead the migration of legacy SAS processes to modern Python-based solutions. This role will act as a critical bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders ensuring seamless transition of complex business logic while maintaining alignment with operational compliance and performance requirements.
Core Responsibilities
Stakeholder Collaboration
Facilitate communication between technical teams (developers data engineers) and business process owners to translate SAS-based workflows into Python solutions.
Business Logic Extraction
Analyze and document existing SAS code macros and analytical processes to identify critical business rules data dependencies and validation requirements for migration.
Business Sign-Off Management
Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and secure formal approval from stakeholders prior to deployment.
Documentation / Knowledge Transfer
Create user guides process flow diagrams and training materials to support post-migration operations and ensure continuity.
Quality Assurance Support
Collaborate with QA teams to validate system functionality identify defects and enforce adherence to financial services compliance requirements.
Required Skills / Qualifications
3 years of business analysis experience in financial services or data-intensive environments.
Proven expertise in SAS (Base Macros SQL) and hands-on experience with Python (Pandas NumPy Scikit-learn) or similar tools for data analytics migration projects.
Strong SQL skills for data validation querying and troubleshooting.
Experience with system migration/modernization projects including requirements gathering gap analysis and stakeholder alignment.
Familiarity with financial analytics/reporting systems and regulatory standards (e.g. SOX GDPR).
Exceptional communication skills to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in process documentation (e.g. BPMN flowcharts) and QA methodologies (Agile/Waterfall testing cycles).
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in business analysis (e.g. CBAP CCBA) or data science (e.g. Python/SAS certifications).
Prior involvement in SAS-to-Python migration projects or legacy system modernization.
Knowledge of version control (Git) CI/CD pipelines or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
