Job Summary

At Relativity Space were building rockets to serve todays needs and tomorrows breakthroughs. OurTerran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit meeting the growing demand for launchcapacity. But thats just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock newopportunities to advance science exploration and innovation pioneering progress that reaches beyondthe known.

Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy ownership and impact exist at every level. Here youre not just executing tasks; youre solving problems that havent been solved before helping develop a rocket a factory and a business from the ground up. Whether youre in propulsion manufacturing software avionics or a corporate function youll collaborate across teams shape decisions and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand and your voice will help define the stories were writing together. Nowis a unique moment in time where its early enough to leave your mark on the product the process andthe culture but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum. The team works across the fulllaunch system from trajectory design and aerodynamics to reliability analysis and beyond with direct influence onall parts of the product lifecycle from conceptual design to post-flight data review. Beyond analysis teammembers engage hands-on with hardware and operations with the mission and authority to drive meaningfulprogrammatic change. With a unique organizational structure the integrated performance team spans multipletechnical domains and embeds directly with partner teams to solve the hardest multi-disciplinary problems. Theteam operates with a rare scale: large enough to support complex development yet small enough that individualcontributors have meaningful impact.

As a part of the Integrated Performance group the Loads & Dynamics team is directly responsible for digesting forcing functions and building models to produce loads for hardware owners and inform higher-level vehicle performance goals. The Loads & Dynamics team works heavily with partner teams in Aerodynamics Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Propulsion Structures and Avionics to balance immediate hardware needs with updated analysis & modeling.

About the Role:

  • We own the dynamic loads for all hardware on Terran R from cradle-to-grave
  • We help mature hardware designs through keen understanding of mechanical structures fundamentals and effective direct communication
  • We build validate and document our analytical models to generate component load predictions
  • We work with our partner teams to inform architecture decisions and deliver inputs for complex events like liftoff stage separation entry and touchdown
  • We inform primary structure design and customer load inputs through Coupled Loads Analysis
  • We are responsible for developing random vibration and shock specifications and ensuring hardware across the vehicle is qualified to those specifications

About You:

  • A bachelors degree or higher in engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated experience driving dynamics issues to closure across mechanical fluids or other domains

  • Experience with coupled loads analysis (CLA) or multibody dynamics (MBD)
  • High-speed or modal data acquisition & signal processing experience
  • Experience with liquid rocket engines launch vehicle analysis or similar in aerospace
  • Experience with fluids/slosh modeling in coupled loads or other dynamic analysis frameworks
  • Experience integrating payload and launch vehicle models for Coupled Loads Analysis
