Role Overview

The Senior Storage Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design deployment operation optimisation and ongoing support of enterprise storage and data protection platforms within a large complex government ICT environment.

The role sits within the ICT Networks & Infrastructure Platforms section of the ICT Operations Branch and contributes to the delivery of secure resilient and highperforming infrastructure services to departmental staff and Ministers Offices.

This position requires handson technical expertise strong documentation skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with infrastructure operations security and application teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design deploy configure manage tune and troubleshoot enterprise storage systems across physical and virtual environments
  
• Administer and support storage platforms including:
  • HPE 3PAR Primera and Alletra
    
  • NetApp ESeries
    
  • Dell Data Domain
    
  • Scality Artesca object storage
    
• Design configure and manage Brocade SAN fabrics including zoning performance optimisation and fault resolution
  
• Use SANnav to monitor analyse and optimise SAN environments
  
• Support enterprise backup and recovery solutions using Veeam Backup & Replication ensuring data protection recovery objectives and restore integrity
  
• Produce and maintain highquality architecture designs build documentation operational procedures and runbooks
  
• Participate in infrastructure uplift projects storage refresh activities and platform modernisation initiatives
  
• Provide afterhours oncall support as part of the infrastructure operations roster
  
• Mentor junior engineers and actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
  
• Engage with technical and nontechnical stakeholders to communicate designs risks and operational impacts
  

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive experience designing and managing enterprise storage solutions in large complex ICT environments
  
• Strong handson expertise with SAN technologies and Fibre Channelbased storage environments
  
• Proven experience producing clear structured technical documentation for operational and support purposes
  
• Demonstrated experience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms particularly Veeam Backup & Replication
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present technical information to stakeholders
  
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary technical teams
