Lead QA Automation Engineer

About the Job: We are seeking a Lead QA Automation Engineer to drive the quality strategy design scalable automation frameworks and lead a high-performing QA this role you will work closely with cross-functional teamsincluding Engineering Product and DevOpsto ensure high-quality delivery across modern web API and enterprise applications.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead QA strategy planning and execution across multiple projects and teams
  
• Design develop and scale robust automation frameworks for UI API and end-to-end testing
  
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to QA engineers fostering best practices and continuous improvement
  
• Collaborate with Product Owners Developers and DevOps to ensure testability and quality throughout the SDLC
  
• Drive end-to-end automation including building frameworks from scratch where required
  
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster releases
  
• Oversee test planning test case design execution and defect management
  
• Ensure comprehensive coverage across functional regression integration (SIT) and UAT testing
  
• Work closely with release management and deployment teams to support smooth product releases
  
• Establish QA standards documentation test architecture and governance practices
  
• Analyze quality metrics and provide insights to stakeholders for continuous improvement
  
• Act as a key escalation point for quality risks defects and production issues
  
  

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• 10 years of software testing experience within Agile development teams
  
• 7 years of strong hands-on test automation experience
  
• Proven experience leading QA teams or acting in a Lead/Architect capacity
  
• Expertise in automation tools such as Selenium WebdriverIO REST Assured Postman or similar
  
• Strong programming skills in Java Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
  
• Demonstrated experience building automation frameworks from scratch
  
• Hands-on experience with BDD/TDD frameworks (Cucumber Cypress Playwright TestNG etc.)
  
• Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins GitHub Actions etc.)
  
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies and testing types (UI API Functional Regression SIT UAT)
  
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (JIRA etc.)
  
• Excellent communication stakeholder management and leadership skills
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SAP web testing
  
• Exposure to performance testing and security testing practices
  
• Experience in Agile Release Train environments (SAFe) or large-scale delivery programs
  

Benefits

Salary Range: $95000 to $100000 CAD/ year

The final compensation offered will depend on local market conditions and geographic location as well as job-related factors such as the candidates knowledge skills qualifications relevant experience and education/training.
