What youll do

As a member of the Technical Office Engineering (TOE) youwill contribute within the productionenvironmentto the manufacturing and testing of the firstvehiclesfeaturing the pioneering Scout design and functionalities. Additionally you will play a decisive role in transferring the lessons learned to product optimization activities and the later pre-series and series production yourroleyou will report to the Manager of the Engineering Office.

• TheEnergy System Technical OfficeEngineer serves as the on-site technical liaison between Energy System Product Engineering and Manufacturing.Actingas thecentral pointofcoordination for Energy System activities at the Columbia/Blythewood facility.The Energy systemincludes:high voltage batteryon board charger DC/DCconverter thermal management systems HVAC.
• Determineroot causeanddevelopresolutionplansforEnergy System Production Centerissues and manage the implementation ofbothshort-termcontainment andlong-termcorrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including:the Energy Systemproduct engineeringteam inNovimechanical engineers electrical engineers softwareengineersandproductionengineering.
• Work closely with the Energy Systemproductengineeringteam to gain knowledge of the EnergySystem design and function.
• Capture lessons learned and providefeedback for continuous improvementpertaining tothe vehicle Energy System.
• Supportnew product launchespre-productionbuildsand validation activities including troubleshooting andprovidingtechnical guidance to technicians and testengineers.

Location & Travel Expectations:

• This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia SC
• This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and events.
• Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyfrom time to time.

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering Thermal Engineering Automotive Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field. (Masters preferred).
• 4 years of experience preferably in the automotive industry.
• Knowledge of high voltage battery systems power electronics thermal systems mechanical electrical and vehicle systems.
• Experience with vehicle control systems and diagnostics and communication protocols (CAN LIN) and hardware interfaces a plus.
• Proficiency with vehicle data collection tools and diagnostics. Competence in thermal analysis software (e.g. ANSYS Fluent COMSOL) and CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks CATIA) a plus.
• Familiarity with battery electric vehicle high voltage and low voltage mechanizations.
• Ability to read interpret and generate engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic collaborative environment.
• Ability to be self-sufficient with minimal direction to meet customer deliverables.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range $110000 - $135000
