Looking for an experienced technical professional with strong expertise in automotive coating processes including e-coat surface pre-treatment and powder coating. This role will support engineering manufacturing and product development activities acting as a key technical resource across programs and facilities.
Technical leadership in coating technologies and process development
Problem-solving and root cause analysis in manufacturing environments
Cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external partners
Experience with validation testing and continuous improvement initiatives
Key Responsibilities:
Provide subject matter expertise for coating processes across engineering operations and development teams
Support issue resolution process optimization and implementation of best practices
Collaborate with customers and suppliers on technical requirements and performance expectations
Contribute to development and introduction of new materials processes and technologies
Assist with new program launches equipment commissioning and plant support activities
Plan and execute trials testing and validation activities (including DOE where applicable)
Review engineering designs and specifications to ensure alignment with performance and quality requirements
Analyze test and production data to recommend improvements to processes and systems
Support supplier evaluations audits and ongoing process monitoring
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in coating technologies
Document technical findings procedures and lessons learned; support knowledge sharing and training
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or related field (Masters preferred)
10 years of experience in automotive or similar high-volume manufacturing environments
Prior exposure to leading technical initiatives or mentoring teams is a plus
Strong understanding of automotive body and chassis coating requirement
