Job Summary
Adelphi is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide services to students within Public Schools in Johnson County NC. The ideal candidate will deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments ensuring access to the curriculum and promoting independence in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Requirements:
Valid North Carolina Teaching License Visually Impaired
Experience working in a school setting
Experience with assistive technology and low vision devices
Knowledge of IDEA and special education practices
Responsibilities:
Provide visual impairment services based on student IEPs.
Deliver direct instruction in Braille assistive technology and low vision skills.
Conduct student observations screenings and evaluations.
Prepare and submit required evaluation reports and documentation.
Develop and contribute to IEP goals and present levels of performance.
Attend IEP meetings and explain services and evaluation results.
Implement interventions and services outlined in IEPs.
Provide consultation and training to staff and families.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and school personnel.
Attend required meetings and comply with district expectations.
