The Project MEP Engineer will be responsible for planning coordinating and overseeing Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems in construction projects. This role ensures that all MEP works are executed in compliance with design specifications safety standards and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing mechanical electrical and plumbing systems for new and existing buildings
- Reviewing and analyzing the specifications and designs of a buildings MEP systems
- Collaborating with architects and other engineers to integrate MEP systems into the overall building design
- Ensuring the designed systems meet all safety and performance requirements
- Using CAD or other design software to create detailed MEP system plans and diagrams
- Inspecting and supervising the installation of MEP systems to ensure they are installed correctly and functioning optimally
- Performing system calculations and preparing specifications reports and other documentation
- Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise with the MEP systems during the construction or operation of the building
- Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in MEP engineering to continuously improve system efficiency and sustainability
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical or Civil Engineering (or related field).
- 5-7 years experience A minimum of 5 years of industry knowledge may be strongly desired
- Advanced knowledge of drafting software including AutoCAD
- Leadership skills to effectively manage a diverse group of professionals working on one project
- Ability to coordinate more than one project at a time
- Knowlege of construction costs and time frames
