Job Summary
Mechanical Design Engineer applies physics and engineering principles to design develop and test mechanical components systems or devices. They create 2D/3D models using CAD software (SolidWorks Creo AutoCAD) perform structural analysis (FEA) and create detailed manufacturing drawings to meet safety and functional standards.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Development: Create innovative cost-effective mechanical designs from concept to production including 3D models and engineering drawings.
Modeling & Simulation: Use CAD software (SolidWorks AutoCAD CREO) to create refine and simulate designs.
Testing & Validation: Develop prototypes and conduct testing to ensure products meet performance safety and quality standards.
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing Sourcing Quality) to optimize production and resolve design issues.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation including specifications design changes and assembly instructions.
Analysis: Perform engineering calculations to validate design integrity.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience (often 25 years) as a Design Engineer or similar role with experience in product development lifecycles.
Technical Skills: Proficient in 3D CAD modeling software (e.g. SolidWorks Autodesk Inventor Creo). Knowledge of simulation tools (FEA/CFD) is highly preferred.
Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding sheet metal fabrication or machining.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities attention to detail and excellent communication for presenting to stakeholders.
