Clinical Nurse Specialist Breast Care

We are currently hiring Clinical Nurse Specialist-Breast Care for a nursing home located in Dublin Ireland
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the Breast Care Services programme ensuring high-quality patient-centred care and efficient service delivery.
- Plan and manage patient pathways across multidisciplinary teams including surgery radiology oncology and primary care.
- Provide specialist clinical expertise assessment and ongoing support to breast care patients and their families across all stages of care.
- Act as a key resource and liaison for consultants healthcare teams and external services to ensure seamless coordination of care.
- Monitor service performance patient flow and departmental capacity implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and access.
- Develop implement and review policies procedures care pathways and quality improvement initiatives in line with best practice standards.
- Lead staff management including recruitment training supervision and fostering a positive learning and development environment.
- Participate in education research audits and continuous professional development to support evidence-based practice and service innovation.
- Maintain accurate clinical records ensure compliance with governance legal and regulatory standards and contribute to reporting and service planning.
- Promote patient advocacy education and holistic care while collaborating on strategic development new initiatives and advancements in breast care services.
Requirements
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) essential; Bachelor of Nursing Studies (BNS) desirable.
- Higher Diploma in Breast Care Nursing required.
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in cancer or breast care.
- At least 3 years experience in oncology or surgical care settings.
- Minimum 5 years management experience with proven service development at a senior level.
- Postgraduate qualifications such as MSc Nursing Oncology Nursing Genetics or Advanced Practice are desirable.
- Strong communication organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently manage caseloads and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
- Capable of working under pressure leading change and demonstrating good IT proficiency.
- Demonstrates commitment to breast care service development continuous learning flexibility and interest in research and teaching.
