DescriptionTherapist Residential and Home Based Foster Care
As a therapist for our Residential and Foster Home setting you will provide clinical services to children who have been removed by family court including identified family members as well as foster families. You will provide services in a residential program foster home or one of our satellite offices. You will work within our Residential and Foster care settings that serve children who have been removed from the care of their parents or guardians due to abuse and neglect. You will provide individual and Family psychotherapy to children and families to help manage trauma and address issues that impact permanence in their lives. You will report to the clinical supervisor or Clinical Director. You will work onsite and in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment treatment planning and general counseling for children in foster care
- Provide individual group and family therapy to children and families when needed
- Conduct specialized risk assessments
- Consult with other staff involved in the care of the child and families
- Participate in supervision
- Provide direct therapy to clients based on the agreed upon service targets.
- Have regular communication/meeting with birth families around progress/problems of children in care and how to support them in and work towards permanency.
- Provide regular case documentation for all children and families on workload including assessments progress notes and treatment planning.
Requirements and Education:
- Masters degree insocial work or related mental health field with one year of related experience required.
- Professional licensure required: (LMSW with 3 years experience LMHC/LMHC-D LMFT/LMFT-D LCAT LCSW)
- 3 years post Masters Degree with limited permit accepted.
- Valid NYS drivers license required
