About the opportunity
This is a pivotalrole for an experienced Development Engineer who wants to shape the future of a rapidly growing municipality. As Lead Development Engineer you will influence how new communities are planneddesignedand delivered ensuring infrastructure outcomes are safesustainableand fit for at the intersection of engineering planning and developmentleading people solving complexproblemsand driving highquality outcomes for Councildevelopersand the community.
You will make an impact by
Leading the assessment and approval of development engineering applications with a focus on access drainagetrafficand landscape outcomes
Providingexpert advice on engineering traffic and landscape designs for subdivisions and new developments
Guiding and mentoring Development Engineers and technical staff to deliver consistent highquality outcomes
Coordinating service authority works and contributing to the delivery of Councils capital works program
Driving outcomefocused innovative solutions within the Developing Cardinia Program and Precinct Structure Plans
What you will bring
A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Registered Professional Engineer under the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019 (mandatory)
Strong communicationskills with proven ability to navigate planning permit requirements and engineering standards to achieve collaborative outcomes between Council and developers.
Extensive experience assessing and approving engineering designs for new developments and subdivisions
Proven leadership experience including mentoring and developing a multidisciplinary team
Strong knowledge of contemporary civil traffic drainage and landscape engineering practices and standards
Sound understanding of Local Government legislation planning schemesand development approval processes
The ability to work autonomously exercise sound engineering judgement and deliver practical outcomeled solutions
