The School of Science (SSCI) teaches and conducts research across many areas including Biochemistry Molecular Biophysics Microbiology and Cell and Molecular Biology Conservation Biology Earth Surface Processes Ecology Ecotoxicology Environmental Science Earth systems Marine Biology and Spatial Sciences and disciplines of Chemistry including Medicinal Synthetic and Physical Chemistry Analytical and Catalysis Chemistry.
SSCI has major research programs and HDR training aligned with Molecular Horizons and Environmental Futures with global research connections providing multi-faceted opportunities for knowledge growth and development.
About the Role
We are seeking a teaching focused academic to support high quality undergraduate education in the School of Science. This teaching intensive role involves coordinating administering and delivering core undergraduate subjects including Molecules Cells and Organisms Principles of Biochemistry and Biochemistry of Energy and Metabolism.
Based primarily at the UOW Liverpool campus you will lead local subject delivery while collaborating closely with colleagues at the Wollongong campus to ensure a consistent and engaging student experience. You will also contribute to governance and service ongoing enhancement of teaching practice and the maintenance of an education focused research program that supports innovation in learning and teaching.
About You
You hold a PhD (or equivalent experience) in Molecular Biology or a related field and enjoy teaching and supporting undergraduate students. You bring experience in coordinating and delivering molecular science subjects including hands-on laboratory classes and student projects. You value building positive respectful relationships with students and colleagues and you use learning technologies and assessment to support student learning. You also bring a strong commitment to WH&S quality assurance and inclusive culturally safe practice within the university environment.
