Job Summary
Savan is seeking a Senior Business Analyst / Financial Data Analystto support the Department of Transportations National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) DATA Act program. This is a client-facing role supporting federal data transparency financial reporting and analytics initiatives.
The ideal candidate has experience working with federal financial or DATA Act reporting is comfortable engaging senior government stakeholders and can operate at the intersection of business data and technical teams.

Role Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between NHTSA program staff and technical teams to translate business needs into actionable data and reporting solutions
- Gather document and validate business and technical requirements
- Support DATA Act reporting financial data analysis and data quality validation efforts
- Write troubleshoot and maintain Python scripts for data manipulation validation and automation
- Develop dashboards and data visualizations using tools such asPower BIto communicate insights to leadership
- Analyze large financial datasets to identify discrepancies trends and reporting issues
- Support development and implementation of data governance and reporting processes
- Contribute to deliverables including briefings status reports user guides and process documentation
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experiencein business analysis financial data analysis or DATA Actrelated work
- Experience supporting federal clients preferably within DOT or DATA Act environments
- Strong understanding of financial data reporting and compliance frameworks
- Proficiency inPythonfor data analysis and scripting
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations inPower BI(or similar tools)
- Ability to troubleshoot data and code issues independently
- Familiarity with cloud-based tools and environments (e.g. Google Workspace Google Cloud Platform is a plus)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Department of Transportation
- Demonstrated experience working with federal customers on IT data or financial management projects.
- Hands-on experience with Python for data manipulation validation and/or automation scripting.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau or similar).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience producing executive-ready presentations and documentation.
Work Location & Schedule
- Hybrid schedule
- On-site presence at Savan Headquarters (Vienna VA) client site in Washington DC and remote work as appropriate.
