Job Title: Mammography Technologist (Mammo Tech) Location: Craig CO Job Type: Permanent Shift: Days
Position Summary
A healthcare organization is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety regulatory compliance and operational excellence. This role also supports departmental operations and quality initiatives within womens health imaging services.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Technical Duties
Perform mammography exams in accordance with departmental protocols
Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and imaging standards
Practice radiation safety following ALARA principles
Operate maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment
Support quality assurance (QA) and preventative maintenance programs
Verify patient identity and exam orders prior to procedures
Obtain patient history and informed consent
Maintain accurate documentation in EHR systems
Coordinate with radiologists to ensure effective imaging procedures
Department Operations
Support daily operations of womens health imaging services
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Maintain accreditation records and support audit readiness
Monitor reporting systems and workflow processes
Manage inventory and ensure adequate supply levels
Team & Administrative Support
Train and support imaging staff as needed
Assist with clerical tasks and patient transport when required
Cross-train in additional imaging modalities
Participate in team meetings training and compliance programs
Organizational Expectations
Maintain professionalism and effective communication
Adhere to workplace policies dress code and standards
Ensure patient confidentiality at all times
Meet productivity attendance and performance standards
Follow safety infection control and regulatory guidelines
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Education & Certification (Required)
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
ARRT Certification in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtained within 90 days of hire)
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Preferred:
Experience with CT MRI or DEXA imaging
Cross-training in multiple imaging modalities
Familiarity with PACS and RIS/HIS systems
