The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road Woolloongabba Albert Street and Roma Street.

Once complete it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.

Cross River Rail has now entered the phase of the program where systems integration acceptance operational readiness and handover become the primary focus. Day 1 passenger services are scheduled for early 2029 creating a strong forward pipeline of work and the opportunity for meaningful tenure across several years.

The Lead Integrator is responsible for ensuring the Cross River Rail is successfully integrated into Queensland Rails South East Queensland network and ready for revenue service. This includes coordinating and aligning activities across multiple delivery partners technical disciplines and workstreams to deliver a single safe and operable railway.

We expect upcoming opportunities across a broad range of experience levels from early career engineers through to senior specialists technical leaders senior project managers and director level roles. Opportunities within the Lead Integrator function will suit professionals with backgrounds across the following areas:

  • Rail Systems Engineering Integration and Systems Assurance
  • Testing and Commissioning
  • Rail Systems Safety Engineering
  • Operational Readiness Transition and Handover
  • Program and Project Risk Management
  • Technical and Integration Project Management
  • Interface Management Across Complex Delivery Environments
  • P6 Planning and Scheduling Within Complex Rail Programs

The Lead Integrator approach is intentionally flexible evolving as the project progresses and priorities shift. This creates a dynamic environment for experienced rail professionals who enjoy complex interfaces systemlevel problem solving and contributing at the point where infrastructure transitions into an operational railway.

Roles will be offered on fixed term contracts aligned to key delivery milestones with potential extensions as the program moves through integration and into operations.

About You:

You are a rail professional with experience gained on major rail or transport infrastructure programs particularly within complex safety critical environments. You may currently be working on a large program that is approaching demobilisation and are considering what comes next.

You understand the challenges that occur at system level enjoy working across organisational and technical boundaries and are motivated by seeing infrastructure successfully transition into service.
