BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for financial and operational performance across multiple categories Professional Services Marketing HR or other Indirect Categories as agreed accounting for $100M of related spend. Responsible for category performance globally at a corporate level for all business units. Accountable for key supplier selection decisions within category. Prepares and evaluates supplier quotations and services to determine most competitive solution based upon a total cost of ownership. Responsible for financial and contractual negotiations within category. Relies on extensive industry knowledge experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Responsible for setting performance objectives and strategy within category. Conducts multi-functional supplier performance management reviews.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the design and implementation of Category Strategy
Lead strategy development through team formation research evaluation and execution
Deliver on risk reduction and increases to service levels
Understand and incorporate industry direction and best practice
Manage key existing vendor relationships and performance
Evaluate and support the additions of new agencies and partners as needed
Guide and mentor peers on strategy and industry best practice
Identify plan and execute projects and initiatives focused on achieving TCO reduction goals
Proactively identify future areas of opportunity to address cost building a pipeline of value to be executed through a variety of professional sourcing approaches
Work closely with and drive supplier VAVE / ideation for cost and value potential
Drive cross-functional engagement
Manage and mitigate against unforeseen cost increases or unfavorable impacts using various negotiation tactics to minimize unfavorable impacts
Support strategic project execution
Strategize and manage the approach to agreement renewals
Cross-functional RFx development roll-out and evaluation; including supplier selection proposal analysis and negotiation
Raise demand management considerations to ensure effective and efficient spending
Identify contractual needs and establish agreements that accommodate
Support (and contribute to) internal stakeholder timelines and budgets
Support Indirect team improvement initiatives.
Support other improvement projects as required
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Business/Technology
Contract Proficiency
Understanding of business and legal interpretations of contract T&Cs
Proficient in working with Domestic & International Law
Ability to manage complex / sophisticated commercial agreements
Comfortable operating with a high degree of independence on contract negotiations

Understanding potential differing needs between Internal & External customers.
Consistently exceed customer expectations by dealing with internal complexities across multiple business units in a manner invisible to customers

Capable of creating pre-negotiation strategy
Competence in negotiating/managing the above spend categories.
Ability to negotiate with varying degrees of leverage utilize advanced financial techniques and build market comparable cost analysis.
Skilled in Analysis of cost structures related to marketing products and services

Ability to create and execute spend strategies addressing risk business needs cost value creation etc.
Able to develop & implement contingency planning processes
Experienced in leveraging various tiers within the supply chain to accomplish goals
Proven ability to react to the speed of the industry
Sourcing Project Execution
Proficient in managing/leading multi-location/global sourcing projects effectively efficiently and professionally to drive optimal overall outcomes for the business.
Manages projects skillfully ensuring the right governance is in place to avoid delays and drive engagement.
Identifies and deals with risks smartly escalating as needed.
Awareness of culture currency geography political influences.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree Business Procurement Supply Chain Operations or related subject.
Minimum 2 years of professional experience ideally relevant category purchasing experience
Experience utilizing supplier management and contract management systems
