Job Summary
SummaryThe purpose of this PGY1 residency program is to provide residents the opportunity to build upon their Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education. Residents participate in numerous learning experiences including providing patient care in various settings completing a clinical research project precepting pharmacy students and interns and educating other disciplines.
Upon completion of this program pharmacy residents will be well-prepared for clinical pharmacy practice and patient care. Responsible for optimizing patient care by promoting rational safe and cost-effective drug therapy. Residents must provide proof of education and have a State Pharmacy License at the start of the program.
Candidates must be eligible for pharmacist licensure in Massachusetts (such as being a graduate or candidate for graduation from an ACPE-accredited degree program (or one in process of pursuing accreditation; or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee certificate from NABP).
Must be already matched via the National Matching Service in patient care rounds as appropriate.
-Contributes to and participates in the departments medication use evaluation plan including but not limited to Clinical Management Initiatives (CMI).
-Reviews current medical/pharmacy literature regularly for recent developments in disease state therapeutics as well as new product development.
-Provides health professionals with drug information and/or references.

Experience
Pharmacy experience 0-1 year preferred and Experience with computer word processing 1-2 years required and Some experience with spreadsheets or databases and other computer software 1-2 years preferred

- Knowledge of pharmacy information systems automated dispensing technology and personal computers.
