OVERVIEW
Marathon Petroleum Companys Illinois Refining Division in Robinson IL is seeking aProcess Design Engineer III/Senior Process Design Engineer.This positionsprimary functionis tocontribute to refinery/organizationalprocess optimizationandproject development.This includesidentifyingopportunitiesanddevelopingprojectsto increase throughputenhanceyields improvereliability andoptimizeenergyor wateruse in process units.This position reports tothe ProcessOptimization & Growth Manager.
Relocation isapproved for this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contributesto refinery/organizational long-termstrategy development andidentifiesopportunities to increase throughputenhanceyieldsimprovereliabilityandoptimizeenergyand wateruse in process units.
Develops process designs for new projects and unit modifications including PFDs P&IDs and heat/material balances.
Performs process simulations and calculations to support equipment sizing hydraulic analysis and energy optimization as well as lead economic analysis andestablishproject rate of return.
Collaborates with project engineers operations and external vendors to ensure alignment of design with operational needs.
Prepares process design packages and support HAZOPs LOPA studies and other safety reviews.
Provides technical leadership during project execution including design reviews construction support and commissioning.
Stays current with industry standards and best practices to ensure high-quality cost-effective designs.
Serves asa mentorfor less experienced engineers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum (Required) Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in chemical engineering
Four(4) yearsofprocessengineeringexperiencewithin refining or heavy industry
Valid drivers license
Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
Must be able to wearappropriate PPEin the refinery and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field
PreferredQualifications:
6 years of process engineering experience
2 years of project or process design experience

SCHEDULEREQUIREMENTS
Options:
1. πππΉπΉ ππ»-π’π³π³πΆπ°π²: 5 days in the office per week 8 hours per day.
2. πππ―πΏπΆπ±: 4daysin the office 1 day work-from-home per week 8 hours per day.
3. π΅/π΄π¬ π¦π°π΅π²π±ππΉπ²: 9 hours Monday-Thursday in the office with every other Friday off. On working Fridays the schedule is 8 hours.
Additionalhours as needed for turnaround and outage support.
