The Casting Process Engineer also referred to as Process Owner is responsible for consistent execution of major and critical casting processes used in our production of the most advanced SX/DS blades Vernova gas turbines. The Process Engineer assures that executional variation of major processes are identified and controlled.The Process Engineer will work onsite at our Investment Casting Foundry in Schenectady Cores and Castings where you will get to work with innovative technologies and SX/DS furnaces.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities for specific process owned
- Safety: Assure that all owned equipment are operating as designed including all safety features. Assure operators are trained in all equipment safety features and for all processes. Contribute to Management of Change Safety Risk Assessments and LOTO on all equipment.
- Equipment: Establish process controls to reduce process excursions via data analysis. Perform engineering trials to evaluate process improvement and to implement fixtures/jigs/tooling. Responsible for the good functioning and standardization of processes.
- Quality: Define/update/revise work instructions and procedures required to assure operators perform tasks consistently. Perform periodic audits. Work with QA and Product Engineers to implement customer requirements. Develop PFMEA and MCP for processes owned. Own some of the Built-in-Quality initiatives.
- Design: Responsible for all 3D Design and machine programming used.
- Delivery: Daily monitoring of processes drive lead or participate in process improvement initiatives and/or problem-solving teams to maintain budgeted FPY. Participate in new part introduction teams as needed.
- Cost: Intensive participation in cost reduction effort and reduction of scrap via rigorous investigation and problem solving.
- Maintenance: Ensure PM are done on time for the equipment and help with the diagnostic of machine failure. Lead maintenance initiatives to reach budgeted OA.
- Robotic: This role will involve very frequent programing of Fanuc Robots.
- People: Daily interface with manufacturing management and product team. Establish operator skill levels to assure depth and breadth of skills. Create a skills assessment tool.
- This position involves a hands-on approach with consistent presence on the production floor during Gemba walks at the beginning of the shift and a daily check-in with operators maintenance and leaders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or technical field/related area.
- Minimum of 2 years in production manufacturing or process control.
- Proven experience in 3D/CAD software such as Siemens NX SolidWorks.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks shift priorities in a fast-paced rapidly evolving environment.
- Strong oral written and listening skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and to resolve problems. Ability to document plan and execute trials or solutions to improve our SQDC.
- Team player able to maintain positive working relationships and foster a supportive and collaborative environment.
Eligibility Requirements
- This position is 100% onsite at the GE Schenectady plant and 1st shift. This position involves a consistent presence on the production floor with a daily check-in with operators maintenance and leaders.
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future. This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens lawful permanent residents and protected individuals (e.g. certain refugees and asylees)). GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Qualifications
- Certification in Fanuc Robot programming or equivalent.
- JMP Microsoft Office
- Personality and drive to execute in challenging and fulfilling manufacturing environment that operates under tight timelines and aggressive schedules.
- Demonstrated written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to convey concepts within all levels of our organization.
